Statoil Secure Parking Now Denmark has its first monitored, secure parking site for large vans, busses and trucks. Statoil has opened the parking area in Padborg. International Safety Certification The parking area, which to date is the sole parking area in Northern Europe to possess the international ESPORG* safety certification, can accommodate up to 50 drawbar combinations on the 7,000 square meter fenced in site. It is only pos-sible to access the site through barriers, rolling gates and the toll system. The site is monitored around the clock by 20 video cameras, and the registration plates of all vehicles are scanned upon entry or exit. In other words, ESPORG certifi-cation means documented special class safety. Is Secure Parking necessary? Unfortunately, crime against the haulage and road transport industry has risen steeply, with more assaults, robberies, stolen vehicles and, in particular, thefts from parked vehicles. Alone in Europe, this type of crime is estimated to cause losses of 8.2 billion euro a year. As a consequence, drivers increasingly need to find secure parking areas for their vehicles during rest periods or to protect valuable cargo overnight. The park is also ESPORG* certified, as the first secure car park in Northern Europe.. Why Padborg? Transit traffic and the concentration of cargo terminals in the area, make Padborg an obvious location. In addition, the Statoil station in Padborg offers all the necessary comfort facilities like café, drivers’ lounge, showers and wireless internet access.
